- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2016I'm an avid gamer, specifically with retro games, and the SNES is my favorite console of all time and has my favorite controller. I got this with not-the-best expectations. But now, I use this for almost every game I play. I can now use my SNES controller on any game, but I use it most for 2-D platformers and for SNES emulation. My favorite game of all time is Super Metroid. With an emulator called BSNES, which is a cycle-accurate emulator, you can use this adapter to play SNES games just like you're playing on a real SNES, with all the timing and accuracy of the original console. I also love the little red LED on the top of this. It lets you know you're getting power to it and it's working properly and it also has that classic red-LED aesthetic as the original console that I have here sitting on my desk. This was definitely a worthy purchase.
The only problem I've had, and only now and then, is that my Select button sometimes presses twice instantly when I only press it once. Now, my controller is the original from when my parents first got me this console when I was a child, so it may be the controller. Because this might just be on my end, I won't let it affect the star rating here.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2013The above product does not work on Mac OSX with the following versions. It may be some sort of bug, but the problem lies in the directional pads not being reset back to a 0 counter. This means that the directions get stuck (namely the right and down). The function of the controllers have been tested (I tried 4 SNES controllers that are constantly used on my SNES console) and they appear to work fine on Windows 7 ultimate (no other installs to test);
I read from a previous reviewer that they was having the same issue. On a whim I attempted a few controller apps (ControllerMate and USB Overdrive) both of which detected the controller just fine, but alas, had the same problem. I can show an output file if needed from ControllerMate.
basically what happens when you push a direction on a controller button is simple math. +1 or -1 is added to 0. Normally the controller resets to 0 automatically when you do not press anything. unfortunately, the number instead stays at +1 for both X and Y axis (which happens to be right and down, respectively.)
Overall the design of the product is not bad, the chord is very hard plastic, and the plastic they used for the housing seems to be close to the SNES plastic. If it worked I would have rated it 5 star. I will simply return it and continue to use other controllers until I can get a working replacement.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2014Would have been great and may be great for some but if your a linux user like myself you may have problems. It seemed as though it was gonna work fine at first but when I tried setting up the button configuration in the snes emulator I was using it only recognized a few buttons that were pressed. So some buttons used on the controller did not work period, so may have been just a defect in the ones I recieved but you can give it a try if you'd like. I returned the ones I ordered and the seller refunded my money in a timely fasion which I do appreciate.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2012This Adapter works just fine for use with my Original SNES controller. I use it to emulate SNES/GBA/and some Genesis games. It could also easilly be used as a turbo controller for nes or master system games with the addition of something like xpadder. This is all well and good, however my snes controller is on its last legs, so I decided to buy an INTERACT SuperPad! for my emulating needs. The Pad works great on my actual SNES, so I know it's good, the adapter just doesn't seem compatible with it. So Be wary if you plan to use a 3rd party controller with this adapter. It's a good adapter for what it is, just doesn't suit my needs that well any more.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2012I purchased two of these for my ZSNES emulator/GBA emulator for Windows 7. They installed on its own, no complicated set-up and I have not quite yet noticed the few frame lag that was mentioned in the other review (But do heed his warning if you play games where timing is critical, I do not play those games).
One of them works flawlessly, but the other one appears to have a loose connection of some nature (still troubleshooting the problem) and sometimes wont work at all, but if it is working, its perfect.
Ill try to remember and update this review when I figure out what the problem with the one is.
All in all I recommend this product if you want to use your SNES controllers on your computer, they were cheap enough that even though only 1 is 100% reliable its worth it.
If you do have the money though, I really recommend just buying wired X box 360 controllers, far more versatile.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2013I bought one of these so I can play ROMs for games that don't work anymore, or I can't find them for a reasonable price.
This little thing works perfectly right out of the gate and the only setup needed was to remap the buttons in my emulator, and it works like a charm, all the buttons are amazingly responsive.
It really doesn't feel any different than playing on the actual console.
The device itself is fairly lightweight and the plastic shell doesn't seem incredibly durable, so if you plan on taking it to a friends house or something make sure it's not in the bottom of a bag or anything because it may break. Or it might not. The USB plug is nice and strong though, and the cable also seems pretty stable/durable.
I've used other USB adapters in the past with bad results, but this one works great.
I'm also buying a 2nd adapter to play two player ROMs, and I don't foresee running into any issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buen prodcuto, sin quejas
funciona bien, no hay queja, lo único negativo que podría decir, pero es algo persona, que me hubiera gustado un cable mas largo, y no se ven tan resistente, sin embargo, pues no lo tiene que ser, pues no es para uso rudo.
