I couldn't find many devices that said they would work with the SNES Advantage, so I said screw it and got this one. Out of the box it worked amazingly. Now I can stream myself playing games like Skyrim with a controller that it was NOT made for. If you are looking for one to get, just stop here. Get this one

I bought several of these Gtron devices, and one Super Smartjoy. I paid much more for the Smartjoy, just so I could have one of the authentic devices. In time, what I found out was that the Gtrons all worked perfectly on my computers. The Super Smartjoy however, did not. It died after just 2 months of use. I tried the Smartjoy on 4 computers, it just doesn't work. Gtron always works. This product is superior to the Smartjoy because it even has an LED indicator to let you know if it's working in the first place. With a Gtron, you plug it in, the emulator recognizes it and it is time to play with the LED light indicating it is working. With a Smartjoy, you plug it in and all you hear is USB devices being recognized over and over, has no LED to indicate anything. I highly recommend these over any other. Gtron is the best.

    The above product does not work on Mac OSX with the following versions. It may be some sort of bug, but the problem lies in the directional pads not being reset back to a 0 counter. This means that the directions get stuck (namely the right and down). The function of the controllers have been tested (I tried 4 SNES controllers that are constantly used on my SNES console) and they appear to work fine on Windows 7 ultimate (no other installs to test);

I read from a previous reviewer that they was having the same issue. On a whim I attempted a few controller apps (ControllerMate and USB Overdrive) both of which detected the controller just fine, but alas, had the same problem. I can show an output file if needed from ControllerMate.

basically what happens when you push a direction on a controller button is simple math. +1 or -1 is added to 0. Normally the controller resets to 0 automatically when you do not press anything. unfortunately, the number instead stays at +1 for both X and Y axis (which happens to be right and down, respectively.)

Overall the design of the product is not bad, the chord is very hard plastic, and the plastic they used for the housing seems to be close to the SNES plastic. If it worked I would have rated it 5 star. I will simply return it and continue to use other controllers until I can get a working replacement.

This Adapter works just fine for use with my Original SNES controller. I use it to emulate SNES/GBA/and some Genesis games. It could also easilly be used as a turbo controller for nes or master system games with the addition of something like xpadder. This is all well and good, however my snes controller is on its last legs, so I decided to buy an INTERACT SuperPad! for my emulating needs. The Pad works great on my actual SNES, so I know it's good, the adapter just doesn't seem compatible with it. So Be wary if you plan to use a 3rd party controller with this adapter. It's a good adapter for what it is, just doesn't suit my needs that well any more.

I purchased two of these for my ZSNES emulator/GBA emulator for Windows 7. They installed on its own, no complicated set-up and I have not quite yet noticed the few frame lag that was mentioned in the other review (But do heed his warning if you play games where timing is critical, I do not play those games).
One of them works flawlessly, but the other one appears to have a loose connection of some nature (still troubleshooting the problem) and sometimes wont work at all, but if it is working, its perfect.

Ill try to remember and update this review when I figure out what the problem with the one is.

All in all I recommend this product if you want to use your SNES controllers on your computer, they were cheap enough that even though only 1 is 100% reliable its worth it.

If you do have the money though, I really recommend just buying wired X box 360 controllers, far more versatile.

I bought one of these so I can play ROMs for games that don't work anymore, or I can't find them for a reasonable price.
This little thing works perfectly right out of the gate and the only setup needed was to remap the buttons in my emulator, and it works like a charm, all the buttons are amazingly responsive.
It really doesn't feel any different than playing on the actual console.

The device itself is fairly lightweight and the plastic shell doesn't seem incredibly durable, so if you plan on taking it to a friends house or something make sure it's not in the bottom of a bag or anything because it may break. Or it might not. The USB plug is nice and strong though, and the cable also seems pretty stable/durable.

I've used other USB adapters in the past with bad results, but this one works great.

I'm also buying a 2nd adapter to play two player ROMs, and I don't foresee running into any issues.

NOT compatible with Android (galaxy note 3) or mac OSx. I ran into the same d-pad issue that some of the other reviewers mentioned. It was however, functional on ps3, although the button mapping was a bit awkward. PS3 buttons map as follows:

    L1 - L
    R1 - R
    X - Y
    Square - X
    Triangle - B
    Circle - A
    L2 - Select
    R2- Start

This isn't a huge deal, as long as the game you're playing offers robust button mapping options, however not all ps3 games feature this. If it doesn't, this adapter is virtually useless. I didn't test it on windows, which other reviewers are mentioning works fine but for my uses, this product does not deliver.

The area where the cord meets the device quickly falls apart. Hope you like the look of tape that is required to keep the connection in place. If you are able to get the connection to stay in place, the device itself works well.

funciona bien, no hay queja, lo único negativo que podría decir, pero es algo persona, que me hubiera gustado un cable mas largo, y no se ven tan resistente, sin embargo, pues no lo tiene que ser, pues no es para uso rudo.
