After 3 years they finally said goodbye.

After 3 years they finally said goodbye.
UPDATE***Got a new one in blue pictured above. Same look different color. They did fix the connection issue to a more flexible type and the length strap is a bonus. Here's to another 3 years! Why do I love these headphones? They are the most comfortable pair I've owned. I've had some chunky ones before that were too heavy after a couple of hours. I've also had pricey brand headphones who didn't last as long or the sound quality just started getting worse, and worse over time, looking at you Logitech. These kept their clear sound, and deep bass. I love the convenience of the in-line sound control for quick toggles. These headphones don't squeeze my head like some headphones do. My ears fit comfortably inside the cups and they don't cause my glasses to dig into my skin. The amount of time I fell asleep with these on is too many to count. Why did they die? Only in the past couple of months did I notice that the braided cord connected to the cup side had slid down, exposing the rubber tube protecting the cables underneath. I was unable to push the braid back into position so there was now a bit of a bend at the connection. Eventually that rubber bend began to erode at the connection. From time to time after that the sound would stutter in places because of that bend and because the cables inside were beginning to disconnect. Today they finally disconnected while I was watching my variety shows. The sound would sometimes sound like it was far away then come back then stutter. The stuttering got worse and worse every time I was trying to adjust the chord so it wouldn't be bent. >.< So I decided to just set the headset aside. Why 5 stars? Well honestly it's only a chord issue. The headset itself is really solid. They fell sometimes from knee height where they hang from and never cracked. I have wooden floors. The sound is solid and the comfort is great. It's also lasted 3 years. In this day and age when things die in 6-12 months for electronics, 3 years is unheard of. I know that a decade ago 3 years would be too short and considered not good, but this is no longer a decade ago, it's about today. Manufacturing for today is wishy-washy. So for a piece of headset to last me this long is 5 stars in my book. Sure the rubber on the cups have long deteriorated but I only care about sound and functionality. ***If SADES reads this you might want to extend the connection protector a bit more or use a different braid type that won't slide down.*** After looking at other headsets today I decided I will get this exact pair again soon. I only use this for the PC and the USB sound plug is great for that, simply because my PC's 3.5mm sound slots have noisy connections. So USB sound is a MUST. Maybe I'll get it in blue this time.

This review only pertains to the Sades SA902, the red and black headset.

I love these headphones. So much so, that I recommend them to anyone looking for headphones. These are not the highest quality headphones, but the price you pay for them and what you get might be the highest value for headphones anywhere.

It doesn't block a lot of sound, but that is perfect for me because I start to slur my words when I don't get the feedback from my own voice for whatever reason. If you are listening to something wearing these, it is very likely that people will have a hard time getting your attention, but it doesn't make you deaf to the world around you either. I have used these for video games where sound direction is a huge advantage, and these headphones literally improved my ability to play such games, I felt like I was cheating by using them.

The microphone is high enough quality to accurately depict your voice to others, the static length mic boom is great too, as i hate the flexible mics that seem to always get in the way, or is visible in your periphery.

The headset is comfortable to wear, and I can wear it all day without noticing it too much. I do sometimes notice the weight of them on my head, they might be a wee bit heavier than most other headsets. The cover that protects your ear from the plastic is very comfortable, they are easy to remove to clean them when it's needed, and even replaceable if need be. It's been about 2 years and i am still using the same set of covers. They have an outer layer of plastic that gets wore down and starts to peel after a year and a half of CONSTANT use. I never understood why it's there, to be honest. The material underneath is softer and feels better even. After it starts to peel, it is rather easy to take that complete later off. My friend, that bought this headset based on my recommendation, says it is a tad bit cumbersome for him, that the headset is a bit too big to be perfectly comfortable on him. Although, my friend has said his head is a bit smaller than the average head, which might effect this point.

The cord is one of my favorite features about this headset. It is not a classic plastic cord, it is a woven cotton (I think it's cotton) cord. It is super durable, it would take actual effort to destroy this cord. The length of the cord is insane, my computer is in the corner of my room and i can freely walk around most of my room while wearing it. I haven't measured it officially, but it is around 9 to 10 feet long. I could see this being an issue for people with their tower on the floor, but it works perfect with my set up. The cord is harder to clean than a basic plastic cord because it's made of a woven material, and i think it might get dirtier too, if that's a big concern of yours.

There is a little control device about 2'7" away from the point it enters into the actual device (the headset). I do not know how they did this, but this is THE PERFECT length to grab it comfortably by reaching for it with your hand. It's so easy that i started using the mic mute button on it instead of muting my mic in different ways. It also has sound mute, and a volume up or down which controls the master volume on your computer, it is not an amp or anything. There is an LED attached to the control device that indicates your mic is muted when on.

There are red LEDs that turn on when in use. If you use it in a dark room, or sleep in the same room with your computer and dont turn your computer off during the night, the LEDs can be seen. This doesn't bug me, but my friend, mentioned that the headset LEDs can be a bit annoying. I honestly don't even know why the headset has lights, it doesn't increase the experience at all... It might make the headset easier to notice, for people when they are talking to you, or maybe when you are trying to find it? But i am not sure, I am stumped.

I really didn't expect much from these considering the $15 headsets at my local Buy-all store last about a month. At the time of writing this, I have had these 3 months and am very happy. The sound quality is great but they do not block much outside noise. The (faux?) leather that covers the ear piece is quite soft and comfortable against the head. When not wearing glasses, I would unlikely ever tire of them. At first, while wearing glasses they would press against the temples on my fat head but would usually only bother me after a few hours. I don't notice much discomfort anymore though, maybe they've softened a bit. I really like the nylon coating which covers the wires that lead to the usb, I've caught my cat chewing on it once or twice and it isn't noticeable though I recommend more responsible storage when not in use. The cord is really long which is great for me since I have a lounge chair across the room and can be comfortable and watch stuff on the computer while enjoying the nice sound. The mic is sturdy and picks up just about any noise coming from the mouth (so be courteous and use the mute button if you're sick) but won't pick up button presses on a non-mechanical keyboard unless you are mashing the keys. Along the cord, you have a 4-button piece where you can mute volume or mic (LED turns on when muted) and adjust volume. I only wish I could turn off the LED lights on the headset itself. I picked these up for $22 and for that price would recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely great product once I got it set up. For my particular laptop, I do not own any type of disk media, so installing the software for thsi product was really confusing, since the site is foreign. Once I got through the set up of the product however, I was pleasently surprised with the amount of customization and quality of the product. This product has several features that make the base line price tag of 26 dollars imho highly worth using it. You have several sound settings that you can customize into different sound profiles to use ranging from listening to just music, movies, games, or any type of genre that you want to hear. You can edit the sound of these headphones with different types of aucostics, which really honestly surprised me, from the sounds of bathroom tiles, concert hall, even a psychadelic effect (Although I have no idea why you would want to listen to that). You can also create a surround sound profile, that you can actually customize where the different sounds of the drivers come out from, even making it have a swirly feeling from the clockwise effect that you can use along with it.

The mic is also fantastic for the price, which is why I honestly bought this device. In the honest truth in terms of quality of sound, after seeing several reviews on gaming headsets vs regular, the expense of a high quality gaming headset is not worth the overall price that you can get with even low quality headphone, especially given that I am already provided a mic in my laptop. This however, with the added adition of the mic, and being the same price as basic headphones, makes the price imho more valuable. The mic is clear and non distracting, so you don't feel it being pressed onto you at all, and can speak with it at a decent distance. It only detects basically your voice as well, I've had on fans, music, and different videos playing while using this while my friends telling me they have only heard my voice while using it. As well as the sound profiles you can make, you can also modulate your voice with the software provided for this headset, so ive shared several laughs with my friends when using the cartoon voice of this mic as well.

I cannot recommned this product enough. Im a huuuge sound phenatic, having used several different headphones and different features, these sound just as good as my own wireless headset pair that I own, and have the confort level to also boost as well. If your looking for a decent pair of headphones with a usb audio jack, which is also another benefit for me, I cannot recommend these enough.

Very good piece of kit! Comfortable and good sound quality; the mic on my hold headphones used to pick up a lot of noise pollution (even keyboard strokes) but not a problem with these. Only slight criticism is the little control pad half way up the lead which is a little sensitive and can mute everything at the slightest knock. Would still highly recommend though.
