- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2018Got this today and really like it. I have big hands (wear a size XL glove) and it's a nice, full-sized keyboard. The look of it is great, especially next to the Redragon gaming mouse I got a while back. The backlight looks really good and you can pick which color you want.
Keys feel good to press, it's a little softer feel than my old mechanical keyboard but it doesn't feel cheap or spongy by any means. No setup required, you plug the USB in and it works right away. Plenty of length on the cord to connect it. Would be a little prettier with a braided cord, but no big deal. I feel like the backlight gives the perfect amount of light. It looks nice without being obnoxiously bright.
For the price, I think this is a great value, would recommend it, especially for people who like to maximize their gaming performance without spending a lot.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2019I ordered this keyboard around July of 2017, I bought it thinking it would only last me couple months then buy something more serious like a mechanical keyboard. This keyboard is comfortable, and great for gaming and overall typing, my moms sat on my setup (she hates the pc and all the LEDS XD) and said the keyboard is comfortable too. Overall still going strong working with no problems, except its hard to get the dust out with Q-tips, overally great product, and 20/10 for the price!
6 year update:
Bought this keyboard 6 years ago when I was 14 & using it for light gaming. Keyboard still works well. The LED lights behind the keys are still bright as new. But light for each letter has faded a bit. Still giving color; just not as strong as when I first bought it. Keyboard still works smooth & great although it looks fairly dirty. I’ve split water, soda, food on this keyboard many times but it’s still working strong. 14 year old me wouldn’t believe how hard this keyboard.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2018The Redragon K503 Harpe is an excellent keyboard choice for beginning gamers on a budget. Whether you are buying a keyboard because you are just starting gaming or are a casual gamer looking to upgrade to a gaming keyboard, the Redragon K503 is unrivaled in value.
Build Quality:
Keys-
The build quality is sturdy, providing a comfortable experience that is adequate for long time use. The keys are not too loud and not too soft, reaching a happy medium between clicky and inaudible. However, one may notice a key that is mushy feeling and not as loud as the others. For example, users may notice the spacebar being the aforementioned key or, in my case, the “0” key on the numeric keypad. Although a little unexpected, this is just one minor quirk in the keyboard. The rebound speed of the keys is strong, allowing for you to repeatedly press the same key without noticing any stickiness. Such a quality covers a range of use, whether it be games with a lot of dialogue to get through or one that requires the function of one key consecutively. This all adds to the K503’s solid typing experience.
Additional features-
To increase the convenience, the keyboard includes media keys for you to access things such as your music or email. These are displayed accordingly on each keycap in a clear and easily understood way. In addition, there are dedicated function keys on the top of the keyboard offering an easy and simple way for you to navigate web pages or adjust the computer. All of this is framed at the bottom with a convenient wrist rest. Collectively, these parts of the keyboard do not add any unwanted weight to it. Instead, it displays a perfect middle ground between bulky keyboards that are too heavy to adjust with ease and light keyboards that are too weightless that they get pushed around unintentionally.
Customization:
The K503 give you numerous options in customization suitable for any time. There are 7 different colors ranging from blues, greens, red, or purple. These colors are accessible to cycle through with the simple press of a key. The brightness of these colors can also be adjusted by means of the keyboard. The choice for a breathing animation of the colors is even given so that you can have an extra special customization option. If one feels the colors are inconvenient due to gaming immersion or being an unneeded source of light, the option to turn them off is available in the same way. This keyboard gives you the option to customize it for your liking while keeping it simple.
In summary, the Redragon K503 Harpe proves to be one of the most well-built and thought out options in its category of budget gaming keyboards. Casual gamers or those looking to upgrade from a typical keyboard can look towards the K503 as the ultimate choice for affordable gaming keyboards that do not sacrifice dependability, ease of use, or straightforwardness.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2023Got this to have a lit KB without spending a lot of money. The RGB is a bonus and although I'm not a huge fan of it, I do like the effect because its not overpowering and the user has a good bit of control of the lighting effects. Then too, it is after all that, a decent keyboard for typing and the very light gaming I do
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2017This keyboard has great gaming function and design in mind. Before I used this I had a wireless office board that wasn't built for the repetitive button "smashing" that action games need. This board's interface is no different from the office keyboards used on a wide basis, other than the FN key is opposite of the home key.
Lighting is great, brightness is good, colors are vivid, and there are seven as labeled. You have your red, which I use most often, your green looking emerald, blue sporting a nice hue, your yellow, your teal/cyan, your purple, and your white, which is an off color so it wouldn't be blinding.
Durability is good, so far nothing broken from regular use. Handles gaming abuse very well.
My only complaints are the gear-up for key sensitivity does not work with my computer, being maybe a software conflict or something. I see no difference using that or using regular speed for typing but I wouldn't know how well it does in game. Also, I find that my second letter of a word will often be capitalized after holding and releasing shift. For example, if I type The at the beginning of a sentence, it will look like THe. I don't know if it's just me or if the key is delayed.
Overall, five stars from me. One of the best purchases I made for my computer, partly because I'm cheap. Great quality, endurance, and performance for a great value.
