As a father of three gamers, I've probably spent upwards of $750 on headsets over the last seven or eight years. We've had just about every major brand and configuration. We've followed the good reviews and been swayed by whatever the kids' favorite youtubers use, but we'd not been able to find a good, durable headset that would work 100% for more than a couple of months. Mics or speakers get distorted or quit working all together. Headbands lose tension or break. Cords fray or have to be held/taped at a crazy angle to connect... etc. When I found my oldest using a cheap, one eared headset from the local superstore because his latest $100 name brand mic had quit after barely two months, I was disappointed but not surprised. When I got the runaround from the company then the invitation to return it for service at my own expense, I was disappointed but not surprised. I've been down this road before and it typically leads to user error and not covered. I decided I wasn't playing the game again and if my boy was that damned hard on his stuff, I wasn't paying a lot for a replacement. I hopped on Amazon and started looking at the cheap headsets with the wild colors and crazy names. I picked this one because it had the strongest looking headband connection at the cheapest price (around $20 at the time). The next time my boy came from his mom's, I gave him the surprise headset with a funny name. He was not enthused but took it up to his room for a tryout. Later I got the report. Not only was it better than the one eared cheapo he'd been using, but he said it was better than the $100 name brander that had recently died. In fact, he said the sound on his end was as good as any he had ever had and his friends all said the mic was the clearest sounding he had ever used. I grabbed another for my other son and received similar reviews. We're fast approaching eight months of service on the older unit with zero hiccups. That's a record. I plan on buying a few more for backups and maybe gifting. I'll come back and update when/if i get any complaints but until then, buy one of these. You can't go wrong for the price even if you don't have the same luck we've had.
