Great Overall Headset

Great Overall Headset
I purchased this headset to use with my PS4 as a wireless upgrade to my previously wired Turtle Beach PX22 headset. Overall, I think the headset is great. I wear glasses and can't speak highly enough about the "glasses-friendly" ear cups. The PX22's were constantly irritating me around the ears where my glasses were being pressed on and with this headset, I can play all day without any issues. The sound quality is also great and provides a truly immersive experience with a large frequency range. I get about 9 or so hours out of them on a charge before having to plug them in. It takes about 3 hours to charge them from dead but you can use them while they are plugged in and charging as long as you have a USB charging cable of adequate length. My only complaint about this headset is that it feels cheap/chincy.... What the products pictures fail to show you is the quality/thickness of the plastic expander bows that connect the ear cups to the head band that are exposed when you expand the size of the headset to fit around your head. Compared to my PX22 headset, the bows have become noticeably thinner which really disappointed me because the headset itself is on the more expensive side of their headset lineup which in my mind, doesn't coincide with the build quality. I have attached a picture for visual purposes. With that said, I wouldn't discourage anyone from purchasing these due to that aspect alone but do keep an open mind and treat them with respect so you don't accidently break or crack them which I have heard and read stories about. You unfortunately cannot purchase replacement bows so if one cracks or snaps you will have to purchase a whole new headset. Please don't let this discourage you from purchasing them either because as with most products, if you treat them with care you should get years of enjoyment out of them.

Bought this to replace my wired headset of the same manufacturer, the Recon 200. I loved the audio clarity of the Recon and, honestly, thought I had found the best deal out there for headsets.

Upon getting my new one set up, I was immediately impressed by the mic monitoring feature which allows you to hear yourself in your own ears. It's actually really nice to know how loud you sound to others, but certainly not *necessary* for most people.

Then I got into gameplay with others on a PS party chat. THAT'S where I noticed the biggest difference. I am now able to individually control the chat volume from the game sounds (COD: MW). Took me a minute to get the levels dialed in perfectly, but once I did, my ears were much happier! With the old headset, I found that I was often wishing the game were louder, or the chat, and then the game again, then chat again... It was a never ending circle of wishing one were louder than the other. Now that isn't an issue at all!

As for the audio quality and clarity, at first I didn't like the sound. The EQ seemed low-end-heavy, without much sharpness to the highs. I missed how clear my old Recon 200 was- I could hear details and tiny pebbles falling from the wrecked buildings around me. However, as I played more, I began to notice that what I was hearing *more* of was the important stuff: you know, footsteps on the ground OUTISDE the building I was in, and other stuff like that. As I played even more, I began to notice those more subtle (but unimportant) details, like the aforementioned pebbles falling, but could also now hear the direction and distance of footsteps. The "virtual surround sound" on these is amazing! I no longer just heard footsteps to my left- I could now pinpoint whether they were near or far, and could actually hear them change from in front of me to behind! I'm super impressed with this feature!

The only real negative thing I can say about these is the comfort of the headband. On my Recon the padded headband was super comfy and I didn't even notice it was there, even during longer gaming sessions. The padding on the Stealth headband isn't as soft/forgiving, and I found myself adjusting it to a few different positions over the course of a couple hours. Not a deal breaker by any means, as I think the superb audio quality and the ability to individually adjust chat/game volume are of much greater benefit.

Overall highly recommended! I only wish I wouldn't have tried to go the cheap route when I first got a headset!

I've only owned a couple $80-100 headsets in the past but they were good.

    These, however, are terrific!

Sound: A resounding deep bass when and crystal clear ambiance make for great immersion while gaming or watching a movie/video. The volume might not get to where it'll blow out your ear drum as many complain but I promise you it's more than enough. The noise cancelling is almost flawless and you do get a sense of your surroundings as TB claims. I will warn you that the Super Hearing featured can be a bit jarring with it's MEGA treble so turn the volume a bit for that. Overall it's worth every penny.

Mic: The feedback I get from the gang is great. I'm told that my comms comes through as if I was in the room with them. The 'Flip to Mute" is great for when the wife thinks I've neglected a thing or two and would rather my squad mates didn't get to be a part of that conversation. The boom feels sturdy and I'm not worried about any breakage.

Comfort: Game on my friend. The battery will die before these bad boys cause any discomfort.

Battery: To be expected or a bit better. The Bluetooth is on by default so make sure to cut it off to get the most time out of your battery. You can expect 5-7 hours on a full charge.

Quality: Ok, a lot of people gripe here. Personally I think it's spoiled first world problems coming out. These are plastic. You can't expect cast iron toughness here. And while some think that makes them cheap, I see it as an added benefit. These puppies are feather light (see Comfort).

Summary: But them now and if you find them on sale... buy 2.

Now that I have used my new Stealth 700 headset for a few weeks I can share my opinion on them.

    Pros:
    1. The headset seems very sturdy design. I don't feel I am going to break them like I did my Sony Gold headsets. This was the main reason I quit buying the Sony Gold headset. I broke two of them although I was very careful with them. The materials were simply weak.
    2. The sound control on the PS4 is great. I can control chat and game audio independently. I like that it uses simple roller knobs so that I don't have to keep pressing a button to change the volume. Simply roll the dial to where you want it.
    3. The iPhone app is a nice touch but I honestly don't think the noise cancellation does anything. I have tested this many times and can't tell a difference at all.
    4. The Bluetooth audio is not an option I was looking for but now that I have this headset connected to my iPhone, I don't know how I ever lived without this feature. The ability to answer a call while keeping my gaming headset on is amazing. I simply roll the game audio dial down and the chat audio up when I am taking a call.
    5. The voice chat is crystal clear. I can hear my friends clearly and they can hear me.

    Cons:
    1. Some features for this headset can only be accessed with your smart phone. I found this awkward because it forces you to download the app and use it in order to access things like Noise Cancellation.
    2. The headset is sturdy but this also makes it stiffer than my Sony Gold. I found that long gaming periods wee not as comfortable as I hoped. I find myself adjusting the headset over my ear from time to time to alleviate some pressure. It's not that bad but just thought it's only fair to mention it.
    3. The audio cuts out more often than I like. Wireless audio cutting in and out is expected but I found that it happens more often with the Stealth 700 than with my Sony Gold headset. Once again, it's not too bad but why does it always happen during an important scene on a game? :-(
    4. The 3 main buttons on the headset are difficult to locate while they are on. You can't really tell what your finger is hovering over since they all feel the same and are very close to each other. It would have been nice if each had a protruding shape like a Triangle, Square, and Circle to help determine which button you are touching.

Despite the cons above, I feel these are still very good headsets and I am enjoying them. If they made some tweaks to future models, I would suggest for Turtle Beach to improve the cons list above which I think is reasonable.

P.S. I love the flip out boom mic. I never have to question if my mic. is on or off so I don't worry so much with what I am saying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tolles Headset mit kleinen Macken
Reviewed in Germany on March 28, 2018

Hands down the best headset I’ve had. I have two sets of Astro A50s(one Xbox one and latest gen for ps4) but I found them heavy and latest gen gave me the worse neck pain. These 700’s on the other hand are very comfortable, very configurable and sound is excellent. It is also great that they have Bluetooth, so I can continue gaming while my wife calls. Should note that I don’t have a large head, they might be too tight if you did. Also you will sweat around the ears as breathability isn’t the best. Other than that these are an excellent choice, and much cheaper than the competitors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best headset ever
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 20, 2020
I have gone through many different headsets (wired) and they never seem to last very long since the wires always get ripped or damaged in some way making the headset not able to work. So I thought I'd try a wireless headset.

I was looking for a headset that was wireless, had a soft cushion around the ears making it comfortable for long gaming sessions, possible bass boost and surround sound. I'm pleased to say, this headset does it all. The battery life is Very long lasting giving you lots of hours having an epic experience hearing every crisp detail. The battery life is one big thing I was concerned about before I got it since it's wireless. I am able to use the headset for most of an entire day and charging takes up very little time. The mic is very clear, no muffling sound when speaking. You can also flip the mic up and down so it's not stuck in one place all the time (Up for mute and down for speaking).

So you're probably thinking what are the negatives? Obviously the price maybe a little high but that's probably just because of the brand. Honestly, I couldn't think of a single bad thing about this headset. It does everything I was looking for and have not been disappointed.

If you have any questions about this product then feel free to ask.
