Because it wasn't exact to size, I had to jerry-rig it to keep it from falling. This filter fits the screen exactly and was so easy to install with the side tabs. When I turned the monitor so they could see they were in awe that they could not see anything. The screen does make the monitor a little darker but for privacy in tight quarters this filter works awesome.

      First let me say that the fit of this screen was perfect for my Acer laptop and I really like the matte finish.

      However, as with most of you reading this, I bought this specifically for the added "privacy" and the idea of having the screen "blacked out" screen sounded great! I genuinely didn't expect it to look quite as black as the stock picture online, but I DID expect better performance than this filter actually offers! Two things really disappointed me:

      1) Very wide viewing angles...you have to be viewing the screen at a pretty steep angle to get the full "privacy" effect
      2) It's not a true "blackout" screen at all, not even close. More of a "darkening" filter that helps makes things like text more difficult to read.

      Someone sitting right next to you won't be able to read exactly what you are writing in an email, but they can certainly tell that you are writing one and can still see what other windows/apps you may have open. I guess that's acceptable if you can keep them right next to you, but anyone walking or sitting behind you will be able to see your screen clearly, even at rather big angles to the screen!

      In other words, even if the person next to you can't make out what you're typing, someone sitting right behind them certainly could!

      As a courtesy, I reached out to Kantek to inquire about the lack of "blackout" performance on their "blackout" filter prior to leaving a review, but they never responded. Disappointing, because I have used Kantek products in the past with good results.

      Also, for what it's worth, it appears the Fellowes "PrivaScreen" is the same thing, just rebranded. Additionally, while the picture here doesn't show it, the Kantek has the same small "U" shaped cutout in the top-right of the filter as the Fellowes version. Not sure what it's there for, but the product packaging shows it when you receive the item and the manual mentions it, as well. I suppose it's to help remove it later, if desired. However, the tabs are fickle and I would not recommend buying this filter if you plan to remove it with any regularity.

      All in all, this is well-made product that is hindered by mediocre performance. If you really care about keeping things on your screen "private", I strongly suggest you look elsewhere!

      Sooo... The first time I ordered, the shipping charge was more than the filter, even though I'm a Prime member and all the screens before the receipt indicated free shipping. So fine- cancel that one; order a new one. Yay for free shipping.

      Then it arrived, and I noticed one thing immediately: it doesn't cover the whole screen. I measured very carefully before ordering, and my screen is exactly 24". The filter is just shy of that. OK, well, I don't often need the very top of my screen obscurred, so I went with it.

      The past several weeks have been an exercise in frustration. The filter doesn't cling to the screen, and there's nothing to hold it in place. It allows a gap between the filter and the screen that makes the image fuzzy and text nearly illegible. I can attribute a number of recent headaches to trying to work with the filter in place, and I've used my hand to smooth down the filter more times than I can count. I tried taping it in place, but no configuration of tape that I found held the entire filter in place (without having little tape bits in the middle of my view).

      When I realized how much effort I was spending trying to make this thing work, I took it off. It's back in its sleeve, waiting for me to have an overwhelming need for screen privacy that causes me to put it back in place. Right now, I expect I'll just work on confidential information when no one is around. It seems easier than using the filter.

      Also, your screen will be darker (like putting on sunglasses). If you work with anything where you need to see the true colors on the screen, the filter will interfere with your work.

It is just a single flat plastic sheet that clings to the monitor - I guess it is the static coming off the monitor that keeps it from falling off. But it stays intact with no moving around. I'm glad I took a chance!!

      Perfect for the screen. Works as advised. The protection is not very strong. After investigating better I note know the are other more powerful filters. But this one is adequate for most environments. However if the screen is to be public I recommend using a stronger filter.

      Works really well as a privacy screen, and is very practical because it is removable. I use it at work to protect patients' privacy. I find however that it sometimes lifts in the upper corners of the screen and I have to readjust it often. All things considering, I'm still satisfied with my purchase because of the price. I would have to pay double to get a better quality privacy screen, and this one works fine.
