Great for Hackintosh

- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2020Style: 2GB Version 1Verified PurchaseThis is a great video card if you're looking to use it in a Hackintosh. It works out of the box on Catalina. In Clover settings, be sure to check Load Vbios and uncheck Inject Nvidia. It should work fine. I use it in a Dell Optiplex 990. As for gaming, I mainly play Minecraft and with Optifine installed, it maxes out with vsync at 75 fps. I turned off vsync to see if it could go higher, but it didn't by much. So expect about 75 fps when playing Minecraft. Haven't tried any other games, but I would imagine performance wouldn't be excellent in a high-end game. If gaming is what you're after, this is a good budget choice, but if you play high-end stuff I'd spend a little more. As for Hackintoshing, you're good to go.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2016Style: 2GB Version 1Verified PurchaseI upgraded my older Dell Optiplex 760 to Windows 10, only to find out that Microsoft disabled any drivers for older hardware that it does not deem compatible. Microsoft and Intel will not offer support for the older Q43/45 chipset in Windows 10. I played with the monitor resolutions that were left to find a setting I could live with on my older monitor. When I recently updated my monitor to a LG 32", I found out that this monitor only had a few resolution settings available that would work with my monitor and all were way too large or coarse. I was not able to take advantage of the optimal resolution of the monitor (1920 X 1080). I searched high and low for a solution, tried an older display card in my machine (which would not even let it boot) and finally settled for this PNY display card as it said it had Windows10 drivers available. Installation was a snap. I plugged in the card, my machine recognized it and displayed everything at the coarse resolution I had set for the LG display. Once I loaded the drivers, all resolutions were available and the display now works great. I'm not a gamer. so I can't comment on how the card would work for that. However for everyday regular use it works great and it breathed new life into my older machine. Sure beats having to buy a new machine.

The CD drivers did not work and everything these days requires the internet and all these extra programs instead of just installing a driver. I found the forceware and got it to work... I think it's the right one, however, XP is very unstable with flash, even winamp, sometimes I get the PFN_list_corrupt bsod error.
I'll have to figure it out in the future.
It's worth picking this up if you've got an older DVI monitor and or want to hook up more than one display, including a TV via HDMI.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2018Style: 2GB Version 1Verified PurchaseThis graphics adapter is perfect for updating a PC that has a motherboard based display logic and a small power supply. I had a Win 7 Pro PC with a 300 watt power supply. When I happened on this NVIDIA adapter, it was a perfect match with its 4k resolution, Direct X support, 2 Gb of memory and small form factor. It also had a great price point. It came right up after installing. There was no CD with drivers, contrary to Amazon's catalog description. It came up in 800x600 resolution. Windows Update automatically found the correct NVIDIA driver for it and after downloading and installing, it displayed in 4k resolution. The driver is also available on NVIDIA's web site. Also some of the reviews commented that it was noisy, but mine is quiet.
This is a great product at a great price point.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2019Style: 2GB Version 1Verified PurchaseFor use in my Dell Optiplex. Technically it's a work computer and I had an old card in it fan starting buzzing. Work wants to replace my whole device with a thin client rather than replace the card, but I want to keep my four monitors, so I bought and installed this card to keep it going. Works great. Use it for business application only, so no large graphic need, but allows me to plug two additional monitors in this as well as the two native spots my device already has. Quiet and functional. Couldn't be happier.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2018Style: 2GB Version 1Verified PurchaseDrivers routinely shut down and crash. Whether you are working on Photoshop, a game, or any graphic intensive application, it will crash. I have tried every remedy I could find and no there is no hope. I cannot use this card as it is simply not reliable. I don't understand why this is happening but it's not just me, it's a chronic issue experienced thousands of NVIDIA customers. This card renders and displays just fine until it becomes overloaded and restarts itself, something I have never seen with any other GPU I have ever used. It's just crap quality. I will need to replace it with something better than NVIDIA and I will never ever buy another NVIDIA card again.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2017Style: 2GB Version 1Verified PurchaseI purchased this card for a Dell R710 virtualization server. It is practically made for this server.
Pros:
- PCIE 8x to fit the stock risers of the R710
- DX11 support
- 2GB of memory to divvy up between VMs as needed
- Small form factor bracket included (although I didn't need it)
- 19w power consumption which is below the 25w threshold of the PCIE slots on my R710
- Price was great at $45 at time of purchase
Cons:
None at this time but will update if this changed.
Overall I am very happy with this card as it was plug in play in my case and now my R710 is having a much easier time rendering 3D effects on the virtual machines I use for IP camera surveillance and Linux desktop environments that require the extra push.

The small 8x pcie leaves room for a bigger grid card as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Economico y potente
Style: 2GB Version 1Verified PurchaseUna buena tarjeta de video esencial. su gran cualidad es que puede soportar 3 monitores simultáneos. su memoria es poca pero no por ello es limitante para correr varios videos en simultaneo sin brincos.
