Overall, the monitors are an extremely great value!

      I'm giving ViewSonic 5 stars for its exceptional customer service during a warranty claim. My monitor started having trouble turning on back in July. After replacing the DP cable, it worked reliably again until recently when it totally stopped working. I have to say, I was very frustrated that the monitor stopped working less than 2 years after purchase. I was ready to lower my rating severely. However, I contacted ViewSonic and submitted a warranty claim. I worked with Leti, and she was awesome. She made the warranty process easy and hassle-free. ViewSonic provided return postage and packing for my old monitor and sent me a replacement one quickly. I am very pleased.

      I got these used from Amazon Warehouse deal for $172. They were suppose to be in very good conditions with some minor damage to the front and side bezel and scratches on the back, but I can't honestly see any damages at all. The displays themselves have no defects at all, no dead pixels or any back light bleeding. They look like new condition. As for the actual displays, the image quality is good, no issues with brightness, contrast, colours or resolution. The only real negative is the refresh rate is on the slow side, but that was known from the beginning. I mean the description specifically says designed for business professionals in mind. I bought these for extended desktop for my work laptop, and they work perfectly for that use. If you are looking for video game monitors, look elsewhere.

      First, let's talk about matte. Matte bezel? Check. Matte screen? Check. Matte stand? Check. It sounds silly, but all of these things having matte finishes really cuts down on glare--and eye strain. But that's not what makes this screen amazing. What makes this screen amazing is... get ready for it... are you sitting down?... I'm serious, this is a big deal... okay, now that you're prepared, here it is: YOU CAN TURN THE STUPIDLY BRIGHT BLUE POWER LIGHT OFF!!!

      I cannot tell you how thrilled I was about this feature. I *hate* having a useless, bright light in the corner of my vision, or (god forbid, on some monitors) dead-center at the bottom of my screen, blazing a hole of ungodly blue or green light though my retinas and all the way into the back of my brain.

      To turn off the power light, press [1], go into Setup Menu, and uncheck Power Indicator. The power light will still blink when you're pressing buttons on the screen, and it will turn on for 3-5 seconds when you initially turn on the screen. But it'll stay off during normal use of your computer.

      UPDATE:
      I recently ran into an issue where image motion would cause black patches or shadows to appear on the screen. This has to do with the screen's response time, and was easily fixed. To fix the issue of black shadows or patches appearing on the screen, press [1], go into Manual Image Adjust, go into Response Time, and lower the response time to either Advanced or Standard. That fixed the problem for me, and should fix it for you, too.
