I bought the 27" for an elderly client that has poor eye sight. It was an excellent replacement for her tiny 17" monitor, the color rendition and frame-less design looked great.
Let's deal with the non VESA compatibility issue first. At this price point, for this size I wouldn't expect VESA compatibility. That said, if you know what you are doing it shouldn't be too hard for you to take apart the monitor, remove the fixed stand mount and put a custom VESA bracket on the back. I watch people do crazier things all the time on YouTube.
If you are handy with building things then I would highly recommend this monitor as a cheaper and fun (making things) way to a frame-less 3 monitor gaming setup. If you are not, then spend your money elsewhere.

external power brick power supply (I personally prefer this style)
Only HDMI and VGA inputs (I'd like to see a Display port instead of VGA)
Over all I can't complain at what this monitor is for the money.
