Great quality, easy to work with
This was my first desk-mounting monitor stand and I am very glad that I chose this one. It's not the cheapest on the market, but it's definitely worth what you pay for it. It's easy to put together and easy to adjust once you mount the monitors on it. I don't know if this is typical of these types of monitor stands, but it's very difficult to adjust the arms until you add the weight of the monitor to the ends of them. Each arm has two joints that can move and the tension in the arms is easily adjustable with an included hex wrench. I recently replaced my two old 24" monitors with 27" monitors and had to increase the tension and this was a breeze. Moving the arms is pretty easy, although I have noticed that sometimes it can cause slight shifting in the base with the clamp setup. The heads can rotate as well to accommodate a vertical monitor setup. This came in handy for me because I bought the HP Omen 27" which has its VESA mount in an odd diamond pattern, making it require a 45 degree offset. The motion for this is quite smooth. Replacing my monitors was especially easy because there is a removable VESA 75 and 100 compatible plate that you put on your monitor. This plate slides onto the head and sits with a screw securing it on the top. Because these are removable, I was able to simply unscrew the securing screw, slide off my monitors, unscrew the bracket, replace the bracket on my new monitors, slide it on the heads of the arms, and then rescrew the securing screw. I did have to adjust the arms to a wider stance because they were larger and tighten up the tension in the arms. The arms also have wire management sleeves that slide on and off pretty easily. I have a power cable and 2 display cables coming from each of my monitors and they fit very snugly under these sleeves, I doubt I could fit another one under those sleeves. It is worth noting that with this many cables, it is difficult to rotate my monitors more than about 45 degrees. If I wanted to do so, I would probably need to pull more cable slack on the monitor's end to accommodate this. The base comes with a grommet mounting set up and a clamp setup. I don't have a grommet in my desk so I chose the clamp setup and it was easy to put together. The clamp comes with a pad on it and the set comes with a few rubber pieces that adhere to the top part of the base to protect your desk. I moved my mount setup twice now and found no damage to the top of my desk, but a little bit of scuffing on the bottom, which is fine with me. There is a small wire management piece on the back which has two stiff tabs that hold cables in place, one basically for each arm. It was pretty difficult to fit 3 cables under each tab and I doubt I could fit another without snapping the tab. Overall, very happy with this mount. I've had it just over a year now and have had zero problems with it other than the small issues described above, which are really mild inconveniences.

Recently I started my quest to get a nice monitor arm that was well made had a nice design and looked to have great build quality. This EleTab caught my eye so I decided to try it when it was on special at a lower price. I also like the fact it has no branding, I cant stand when companies like to over brand there products with giant billboard size logos, I know others don't like that either, so why so many companies do this is crazy. We know what we bought.

A small well done brand on a product in one location fine, but large logos or branding all over no thanks. so with that off my chest the arm I received has no logo, awesome maybe they decided the clean look was best for there customers. I see some do have branding on them in the pictures but for me the one I received had none. Overall I like the arm it is sturdy well made and seems like it would last but? The problem as stated in my title is QC or the lack there of, every single joint that allows left to right motion including the vertical rotation has been way over tightened to the point that the tension washers that keep a more uniform friction at the joints are compressed almost fully.

NOTE: The company has told me that they have decided logos will not be on these arms any longer, So anyone looking for that nice clean look that is harder to come by these days, its a win win for those that dislike over branding.

I tried to loosen the Allen screw/bolt as it showed in the instructions, should be easy right? so that I could get a nice smooth action, forget that it was so tight it basically stripped out the one Allen Screw head which is made of a softer metal then it should be, the good part the Allen wrenches supplied are of tempered tool steel so they are strong, too bad the screws not so much.

Ideally the joint screws should be Stainless Steel so that stripping them would not be an issue. If and when I can get the bad screws out I will swap them for Stainless button head screws. This is a shame that such a nice arm has such inconsistent QC ... why would they not test every arm made for a nice smooth motion before it is sent out to the customer and reject any that are way too tight?. I did reach out to the company via their site and email before writing this review and have not heard a thing from customer support ... considering its been several days I find that unacceptable. Even the on site chat was not actually live and it said they will email me. I would love a replacement as this one I am considering defective. I still gave it 4 stars because it does appear to be well made overall but could be a lot if they had not over tightened all the joints.

Aside from to QC problems mentioned I found the assembly to be very simple and easy to understand, all the parts used to attach the arm to a desk are very thick heavy steel and very well thought-out, you can build it for both a thick or a thin desk by using a different set of holes in the bracket before attaching it. If you do not want to mount it on the edge of your desk you can use the included carriage bolt assembly to secure it via a small hole that you can easily drill.

    *****************************************************************
UPDATE: Now 5 stars ... I recently have been talking with them via the EleTab_service@outlook.com email and cust service has been top notch. So in speaking with them about the problems I had they have been very responsive, just a few emails back and forth and they have sent a replacement, I am testing the replacement now and this one seems to be working as it should, with all joints able to move freely with just a little friction that is needed to keep everything where you set it.

They have assured me they are working on the QC of the arm as I write this, so I think from this point on the product should function as it was designed to, and I highly recommend this arm for its overall build quality clean design and the fact they actually do have outstanding cust service.
    *****************************************************************

I think anyone who buys this arm will be very happy as long as the one you get has been correctly torqued so that end user adjustment if needed can be easily accomplished with the tools supplied.
