- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2015I'm a student and heavy traveler, and so my emphasis on buying these headphones was
As far as sound is concerned, I'm no audiophile. I look for headphones that don't interfere with my appreciation of music by creating erroneous sound, drowning out vocals with obviously artificially enhanced segments of the sound spectrum or by buzzing. Also, I want minimal sound leaking out as possible, so my neighbors on planes and in my workplace don't hear my bad taste in music. A few days of heavy use have shown that these headphones fit my requirements for sound thus far.
I'm hard on my electronics. I broke two cell phones in the course of 9 months. That being said, these get top ratings as a durable, travel-friendly headphone. They fold up easily into a relatively small package, and come with a surprisingly durable and thick carrying bag. The build quality is such that I have no fear of throwing them their case in my backpack and letting them jostle with my books and batteries.
For comfort, these are very satisfactory, striking a pleasing balance between the aforementioned portability and comfort. The band on top of the head is a bit noticeable, but not distracting and definitely not painful. I'd pick this band over a wider band with more comfort but less portability. The earpieces pivot enough to not pinch my ears, and the padding there is fantastic. Like someone else said, the only (minor) issue is my ears get warm after a while.
Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with these, and I won't be searching for another set of headphones unless someone steals these.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2015I received these this morning, and they have not left my head. I am very impressed with the clarity and detail of these on-ear headphones as compared to other on-ears I have owned and enjoyed for years (Philips Citiscape Downtown, Logitech UE4000, House of Marley Exodus, Sennheiser HD229). I was concerned somewhat purchasing a Harmon/AKG product, as I had read that they need a long break-in period (and they may be one of the few headphones that actually DO require this, according to some online sources.) I will tell you that this is not the case, as my rock, EDM, and surprisingly *jazz* tracks are incredibly well timbered and well proportioned throughout the range. Most of the headphones I listed previously have a some kind of glaring tonal failing in my hearing, or are somehow uncomfortable for more than one or two hours, but I have not found the like to be true in my admittedly short time with the AKGs (six hours so far . . . but I have not taken them off!) They are very comfortable, light-but-not-too-light, and have an incredible range of adjustment coupled with a secure fit. These are my first pair of AKG phones, but they will not be my last. I should also mention -- I am not a huge fan of the styling, but the primary color bling is growing on me.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2015These headphones sound extremely good for general purpose listening. For $100 you get great all around sound. I listen to a broad range of music and this covers all my bases when I am on the go or mowing the lawn. By far they sound better than any BEATS I've listened to. They are constructed very well and sit on my head firmly and comfortably. The ONLY negative is the microphone. I use this for conference calls and I've been told the sound is a bit muffled. I previously used an old set of ear buds with mic from a Samsung GalaxyS3 and was told I sounded infinitely better from those. Other than that a VERY good headphones for the price.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2016I don't hand out 5-Star Reviews often. Even if a product is the best, I can usually find something wrong with it. This product is almost impossible to criticize, save the price.
The cable feels sturdy and ready to handle anything, the drivers pack serious bass, highs, and slight highlights on the mids, just the way I like it. The ear cups are soft and easily allow for hours of comfortable gaming. The top could use a little more padding, however if you loosen it up a bit it doesn't hurt as much. The portable design works well and I love not strangling myself over the single detachable cable. The Mic is clear, with the button sometimes stiff and hard to press.
The price is enough for you to have to sell your small toe and.. Wait a minute... Yeah, the price is bad. Sure these are awesome, but their rarity is the reason for the high price. Sometimes the black ones go for as high as $200 on eBay and third party sellers on Az because they're always out of stock. Lower the price to $60 flat, make more (a lot more) and you will have the best headset on the market, even better than AT or Sennheiser.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2015I got these headphones three weeks ago and the left ear piece just fell off. Needless to say my heart stopped and I am freaking out at the moment. I have usually gotten by with 'cheapo' headphones and finally decided to make the leap and go for some nice, high-quality headphones. After much research I found AKG to be the perfect brand for me. They sound great, fit amazing, but I have had them for three weeks and they just fell apart. I take very good care of my things and I've never abused them in any sort. I am hoping they get replaced quickly and that the pair I was sent are just faulty. I am crossing my fingers this doesn't reflect the quality of the well known manufacture that is AKG.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2016Went from Bose OE2 headphones to these. Thought the audio quality would be more equitible after reading the reviews but it's not even close. Bass sounds terrible. Miss and highs are okay, but not any better than some $15 headphones I've had.
The only good thing about them is the noise isolation is pretty good for an OE design.
Pretty disappointed overall.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2024The headphones work great and the only issue I've had is that the plastic cover over the earphones has disintegrated, but it took a very long time for that to happen and for the price, I can't complain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Look good - great fit, great sound, no bleed for public places and compact
Great headphones, good sound quality, excellent comfort, removable cable and folding headpiece for compact storage. No bleed at standard volume.
One thing I do like is these fit the head shape very well, some headphones stick out on the sides and look odd, these look good and sound good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cómodos y un sonido muy decente

5.0 out of 5 stars These are the best earphones I have EVER had the pleasure of hearing
These are the best earphones I have EVER had the pleasure of hearing. I say hearing, because I include all the demo earphones you find at places like Indigo, Best Buy, and and the Apple store. These easily rank up with headphones more than twice the price. I love them. And I will cry when one day (hopefully in the far future) they wear out

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied purchase.
Good fit, balanced sound, picks out the details in a recording without overkill on the bass.
