I received my first pair of UrbanEars as a gift around 2011. I used them primarily on cross-country flights and while vacuuming the house. I was blown away by my old pair from the get-go. I had never experienced or thought it possible for such rich, round sound to come out of such a small package. My old faithful headphones finally developed a short where the wire meets the ear (before the cord was fully detachable) and I didn't hesitate to buy a new pair of Plattan 2s.

After six years, I'm still blown away with the quality and richness of sound UrbanEars is able to cram into the size and price point of the Plattan. I haven't shopped around much for headphones (why would I when I have these?), but I know a friend of mine paid roughly twice the price for another brand of cans that have tinny sound, a garbage mid-range, and a clunky, heavy cord that constantly gets in the way. The Plattan 2 is an incredible value.

My only criticisms of the Plattan 2 are:
      - They're uncomfortable if you wear glasses, as I sometimes do for reading. The headphones really squish my ears if I keep my glasses on.
      - I don't like the right angle where the cord plugs into the device. I know it's meant to decrease the risk of shorting out the wire, but that was never a problem for me and I prefer the old, fully straight cord. The right angle cord gets in my way when trying to hold my iPhone. (Sound quality is my #1 priority, which is why I refuse to use bluetooth headphones, which would obviously eliminate a cord getting in the way.)
      - I purchased the Plattan 2 in "Indigo," which is pictured on Amazon and the UrbanEars box as a deep teal. In reality, Indigo is more of a dark, grayish-blue. I like the color, but it's not what I was expecting. Be aware that the colors are likely to vary from the photos.

Overall, the UrbanEars Plattan 2 are an excellent value and I can't imagine finding headphones in this price range that can touch this sound quality.

I'm a fan of headphones and have had a lot of them in my lifetime. Since I noticed that my last two headphones from Sony didn't last a year (!), I realised that I needed to go with another brand. Urbanears headphones attracted me with their modern, stylish, yet simplistic design. They have this urban feel to them, which I absolutely adore as a graphic designer.
Urbanears are extremely COMFY! The cushions are so soft, that I can listen to music (or ASMR) in them for hours, even when I'm wearing glasses! Probably the most comfortable headphones I've ever had.
As for sound quality, it's good, but I'm not a professional, so I don't know what to look for in that aspect.
Finally, I was pleased with the price! Fairly cheap headphones turned out to be very comfortable and stylish!

UPDATE: have used them for almost 2 years, still work perfectly!!

I've only had these headphones for a few weeks now, but so far so good! I didn't want to spend a fortune because I am a self-admitted breaker of headphones...I fall asleep with them on, shove them in my purse as I'm getting off the train in a hurry, drop them on a regular basis...But these have held up so far!

For me, the sound quality is good. However, I'm not a professional musician or anything like that...just an average person that listens to podcasts in bed or Spotify on the train. For me, these are perfect.

Would definitely (and probably will) purchase again! I'm also looking into the Urbanears earpods and home speakers (I like the designs).

I just got these so I'll try and update again later on down the road but these headphones are way more comfortable than the the Skullcandy Grinds I got before (Though this may depend on head and ear size). They also seem to passively block out more sound than the grinders as well. The sound quality on these, from an amateur's ears, is pretty damn good. Though, these may be a bit bassy (Something I particularly like but others may not). I think the feature that allows you to share your music with someone else is pretty cool but I wonder if I'll ever use it (XD maybe when I get a girlfriend?).

I've had these headphones for a while now but didn't leave a review because I didn't realize just how good the bass levels are. I recently started playing bass with a headphone adapter plug instead of an amp (Donner's Basement Amplug, to be precise) and these headphones produced a much deeper, cleaner sound than the pair of $100+ over-ear headphones my husband had. Kinda random but I thought it was worth mentioning.

While the ear cushion is really comfortable I don’t see myself keeping these as they aren’t Bluetooth. The connection isn’t compatible with my iPhone and maybe I just assumed it was Bluetooth as my older pair of Plattan headphones is Bluetooth. Having the detachable cord led me to believe that I was in fact buying the blue tooth version which maybe is silly but seems weird that they (urban ears) would bother making wired headphones with detachable cords that aren’t also Bluetooth enabled. Seeing as it’s not compatible with my phone i literally can’t use these without investing further by buying a dongle for them.

I absolutely love these headphones! These are my very first pair of over-ear headphones, so I was nervous at first because I've only ever used earbuds, but they're great! Extremely comfortable, amazing sound quality (in my opinion, as good of quality as my Bose earbuds!), and adjustable. I like how I can fold them up and stick them in my backpack, though I usually keep them around my neck. These headphones are so good that I rarely use earbuds now. I love the soft feel around my ears and the sound. Worth the price! Definitely recommend!

When I first got them, I remember, I could not wear them longer than 5 minutes, because they would hurt my ears (felt too tight), but then I got used to it and they were just fine.
Sound isolation is good, the design is good. Have had these for 2 years already and the condition is still good!

Love these headphones. I have got another pair (somewhere!) but the cable end broke, I have replaced the cable but can't find the headphones so decided to get a new pair.

I chose to get the same make because of the quality of the sound for the price. My original pair was bought in Heathrow airport at a cost of £39.99 supposedly duty free!

      Love this colour.

I've bought from Urbanears before, and have been consistently impressed with their products. The only reason that I had to buy a new pair at all was because I wore down a hole in the pads of of my first pair by wearing earrings with them occasionally (do not do by the way, it's uncomfortable). Considering I've had them for a little over a year now (using them upwards of 3 hours a day) and they still work perfectly, not too bad. Very comfortable, good quality sound, and stylish. If you want a good pair of headphones for under $100, this is definitely what I'd recommend.

Love these headphones! Good quality for a reasonable price. As someone else in the reviews said they are a bit more bass heavy, but for me that's a good thing.
I ordered the Tomato colour and they are nowhere near as red as on the main photos. I would say they are more of a bright, fluorescent, pinky, orange colour. (Sorry, the photos I took on my phone are a little dark. The top left of the headband in the closer photo is a more accurate representation of their overall colour).
The cable is more of a shoe lace material than a usual rubber/plastic one, if that matters to you.
When I first plugged these into my Mac at work to listen to music, the balance sounded slightly more to the right-side of my hearing, so I had to adjust the settings on my Mac to the left to make the music sound like it was "in the middle of my hearing", if that makes sense.
They are easy to fold up and adjust; I feel a lot better about carrying them in my overflowing rucksack since the ear parts fold up into the headband.

Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a decent pair of good value good quality headphones.
