Bottom line: If you mount this monitor arm the way they expect you to, it's great!
So, I bought this arm because it was reasonably priced, had good reviews and looked sturdy. Also because it had multiple options for mounting it to a desktop. I have a dedicated computer desk so I decided to just bore a hole in the desktop and mount it that way. All went well except I assumed (I know...) that the 2 horizontal parts of the arm would fold completely back until they were side-by-side touching each other. They won't, and it's obvious that they can't when you look at it. So I can't push the screen back as far as I want. I'm going to re-mount it using the L bracket option that you see in the picture attached at the bottom of the arm except just bolt it to the back surface of my desk so the whole thing is further back. I'll have to plug the hole I made in the top surface of the desk but that's okay.
Everything else is wonderful. It operates smoothly, it's VERY sturdy and it frees up space on my desktop. Buy it, you'll like it.
